Popular singer, Qdot, was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in his home in the early hours of Sunday, sparking widespread concern among fans and colleagues
The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m., has once again highlighted Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Eyewitnesses and close associates said a group of masked, heavily armed men stormed Qdot’s residence, subjecting him and his household to a terrifying ordeal. The attackers reportedly stole mobile phones, laptops, and other gadgets essential to the singer’s music production, as well as emptied his bank accounts through forced transfers. They also seized control of his social media accounts, raising fears of impersonation or exploitation online.
Although no lives were lost, those present during the invasion were said to be severely traumatized.
Qdot has not yet issued a public statement, but associates confirmed he is safe though emotionally shaken. Fans and fellow entertainers have expressed relief over his safety but worry about the consequences of the attackers gaining access to his personal and professional accounts.
Security agencies have been notified and investigations are underway. Authorities are trying to determine whether the robbery was planned in advance, with early speculation suggesting the assailants may have had insider knowledge of Qdot’s movements and finances.
