Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has revealed that she recently underwent leg surgery following a long period of enduring pain in silence.
The 35-year-old made the disclosure in a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, sharing a video montage that captured various stages of her recovery, including time in the hospital, walking with crutches, undergoing X-rays, and receiving visits from loved ones.
Reflecting on her experience, Omowunmi wrote about how she continued to show up for work and public appearances despite the pain she was dealing with behind closed doors.
“Sometimes we smile through the pain so convincingly that no one sees the storm we’re facing,” she wrote. “For so long, I pushed through the discomfort, walking through film sets and public events like everything was fine, but deep down I was struggling.”
She revealed that after trying to endure it for a long time, she finally opted for surgery—a decision she described as both difficult and humbling.
“The idea of not being able to do basic things—walk freely, use the bathroom without help—was overwhelming. But God carried me through it. I’m still on the journey, but my healing is unfolding beautifully,” she added.
Omowunmi also took a moment to appreciate the people who stood by her during her recovery.
“To my amazing doctors, thank you for your dedication. To my friends who checked in, visited, and reminded me I wasn’t alone—thank you. And to my family, your strength gave me strength,” she wrote.
The actress has remained active in the industry in recent years, appearing in films such as Ada Omo Daddy (2023), The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi (2023), Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (2024), Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024), Finding Me (2025), and Family Brouhaha (2025).
