New Super Eagles coach Bruno Labbadia will stick to his trusted German Assistants as he starts job

Newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Bruno Labbadia will reportedly stick with his trusted German assistants as he puts together his backroom staff.


Labbadia, who was appointed Super Eagles head coach on Tuesday is expected to bring in at least two foreign assistants but will also work with several local assistants.


According to Complete Sports, Erdinç Sözer, Olaf Janßen and Bernhard Trares are the three men, who have worked with the German regularly in the last couple of years.


Sözer is considered Labbadia’s most reliable assistant and is likely to be his first choice once he comes to Abuja.


The pair worked together at several clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin.


Former centre-back Trares started working with Labbadia in 2015 in Hamburg and continued their partnership at VfB Stuttgart. He is also currently without a club while Janßen is currently managing the German side, Viktoria Köln. He started working with Labbadia in 2018, with stints at VfL Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin.
