My mum wanted me to be a Priest – Chief Priest

Cubana Chief Priest has opened up about one of his biggest regrets — failing to fulfill his late mother’s dream of seeing him become a Catholic Priest

In an emotional Instagram post, he revealed that his mother prayed for years before conceiving, giving birth to his older brother Onyinyechukwu (meaning “Gift from God”) and later to him after a complicated pregnancy, naming him Chibuike (“God is my strength”).

He explained that his mother had promised God that one of her children would serve Him and hoped that he would join the priesthood. Despite trying to gain admission into the seminary, he could not make it to Catholic priesthood.

“Next year will make it 10 years since I lost my mom, and everyone who knows my story can testify that my life changed after she went to heaven. Every day I live with the guilt that I disappointed my mama by not becoming a priest. She wanted to be called Mama Father, but instead, I became the ChiefPriest,” he wrote.

Chief Priest said that although he did not fulfill his mother’s wish, he still considers himself to be doing God’s work. He also announced that he recorded a Catholic thanksgiving song to honor her memory and express gratitude for his blessings, including family, fame, friends, wealth, and music.

“But fact remains that I’m still doing God’s work. I had to do this thanksgiving Catholic Christian song to honor my late mom & also thank God for the numerous blessings that have come my way.”

The song, featuring rapper Zoro and produced by Masterkraft, will be released after his post reaches 1,000 comments, he said.
