In an interview gaining popularity on social media, singer Tems opened up about her early struggles and how her life changed after meeting Wizkid.
She recalled initially wanting to perform every Friday at a local bar, but they turned her down for not having any songs.
Motivated, she decided to record more music and, by 2019, released “Try Me” along with its video.
Shortly after, she learned Wizkid wanted to meet her, which led to their iconic collaboration on “Essence.”
Tems shared that, for a while, she felt aimless and was just going with the flow until she launched her EP.
Reflecting on her journey, she wished she had dreamed bigger, feeling it might have prepared her better for the demands of fame.
