Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.
This comes after she withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest due to scrutiny surrounding her nationality.
Despite being a Top 11 Finalist, Adetshina stepped down from the competition after the South African Department of Home Affairs raised allegations against her mother, including potential fraud and identity theft.
In a recent video, Adetshina revealed that she has accepted an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant. “I am thrilled to announce my participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant,” she said.
“I look forward to competing in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant and representing my heritage on the national stage.”, she concluded.
