Onyinyechi Basil, the pride of Anambra State, has clinched the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 crown
The 25-year-old beauty queen was named winner of the national competition at its grand finale held Saturday night in Lagos, triumphing over 21 other contestants to take the title from outgoing queen Chidimma Adetishina.
“I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity,” Basil said moments after her coronation.
With this win, she will go on to represent Nigeria on the global stage at Miss Universe 2025.
Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, took first runner-up, while Bayelsa’s Fortune Kurobo and Ogun’s Irene Ikediashi placed second and third runners-up respectively.
