Liverpool have officially completed the signing of Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a deal worth £40 million.
The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Reds, becoming one of the key additions in Arne Slot’s first transfer window as Liverpool manager. His arrival further strengthens the club’s summer rebuild, with total spending now surpassing £200 million, following earlier deals for Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Kerkez had a standout season with Bournemouth, making 38 Premier League appearances, scoring twice and providing several assists. His performances earned him a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award and widespread praise for his attacking instincts and defensive maturity.
The Hungarian international is seen as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, adding fresh competition to Liverpool’s left-back options, which also include Kostas Tsimikas.
Known for his dynamic style, underlapping runs, and high work rate, Kerkez is expected to fit seamlessly into Arne Slot’s tactical setup, which favors energetic, attack-minded full-backs.
Speaking after his unveiling, Kerkez said he was “honoured” to join Liverpool and is eager to help the club in its pursuit of domestic and European success.
His signing is viewed as a strategic move by Liverpool to refresh the squad and build a younger, more versatile team capable of challenging on all fronts.
