Lil Nas X breaks silence on arrest

Lil Nas X is breaking his silence after being arrested and accused of assaulting police

The “Old Town Road” rapper, 26, spoke to fans in a video shared on his Instagram story on Tuesday, Aug. 26, one day after he pleaded not guilty to four felony charges in Los Angeles.

“Your girl is going to be OK, y’all,” the rapper, whose real name is Montero Hill, said in the clip.

He continued, “That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”

Lil Nas X did not address the allegations against him in the video. He was taken into custody early on Thursday, Aug. 21, after police were called to the scene while he was allegedly “strolling naked” along Ventura Avenue, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

“Upon arrival, he is accused of assaulting the responding officers trying to take him into custody, injuring at least three of them,” per the district attorney’s office.

Lil Nas X was charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. The singer pleaded not guilty and was released from jail on Aug. 25 after posting bond, court records showed.
