The convener of the globally followed online prayer platform, New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), Pastor Jerry Eze, has revealed that he once doubted his divine calling.
Eze made this confession during a recent appearance on the WithChude Live podcast, where he recounted his personal struggles and moments of uncertainty following his resignation from a promising career.
Before launching into full-time ministry, Eze worked as a communications specialist with the World Bank’s HIV/AIDS project and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). However, he admitted that after stepping away from his professional path, he found himself jobless and plagued by doubt.
“Oh yes, I remember a month after I resigned, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life,” he said. “You read the Bible, pray, and have nobody to preach to. I felt like, can God really make me jobless? Because I love doing something.”
Eze explained that the season of uncertainty turned out to be a divine moment of preparation for the global impact of NSPPD, which now attracts millions of viewers daily.
He said he chose to share this vulnerable part of his journey to encourage others navigating similar crises of faith and purpose. “If you have been tempted, someone wants to know how you have been tempted and if you ever tried to give up,” Eze added.
