I have never been in love – Ayra Starr

In a recent interview with Dazed Magazine, Grammy-nominated star Ayra Starr shared insights about her romantic life, revealing that despite being seen as a “lover girl,” she has never been in a serious relationship.

The 21-year-old singer from Mavin Records explained that her focus on music, which began at the age of 15, has kept her single. Now, however, she is ready to explore love.

“I want to fall in love. I wrote ‘Lagos Love Story’ about what love would look like if I was. I’m a lover girl deep down, but I’ve never actually been in love. I’ve been in certain situations, but never in a fully committed relationship.”

Ayra also explained how her busy career, from modeling and university to being on the road, has left little time for relationships. “I’ve tried to put myself out there, but I don’t think I’ve had the time. Now I’m just enjoying myself.”

Ayra Starr gained viral fame with her hit song ‘‘Bloody Samaritan‘’ in 2021 and has since released her debut album “19 and Dangerous“, featuring popular tracks like “Rush” and a remix of “Bloody Samaritan” with Kelly Rowland. She is now one of Africa’s fastest-rising stars.
