In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, BBNaija season 9 winner Kellyrae shared his personal struggles with depression and gambling, revealing how his wife, Kassia, helped him through his darkest moments.
Kellyrae confessed that his desire for more wealth led him to gamble away his savings, resulting in depression and feelings of guilt…
He considered breaking up with Kassia, feeling he couldn’t provide for her adequately.
However, Kellyrae’s time in the BBNaija house proved to be a turning point.
He maintained that he remained true to himself throughout the competition, with the exception of keeping his marriage to Kassia a secret.
Kellyrae said: “I was thinking one day, I called her and said let’s just break up, I feel I don’t have what it takes to really take care of you because I feel guilty most times that there are things I’m supposed to be doing.”
“Even if you lay on your bed for the rest of your life, trouble will still come. I think I prefer the trouble that comes with N60 million. The only thing I had to fake was that I was in the house with my wife, every other thing, I was just being myself.
