
Kurekere singer, Iyanya reveals why he left Mavin record, saying there was no big drama behind it, but he felt it was time to leave.
The artiste disclosed this in a morning interview with Beat Fm. He further disclosed that he has joined a newly formed label, Temple Music which represents other artistes like 9ice, Dj Jimmy Jatt, Jeff Akoh and among others.
Iyanya said, “I’m now signed to Temple Music but I’m a Mavin for life. It was not a beef. I was there and it was time to move on.”
He further explained why he changed his sound, giving credit to Don Jazzy for helping him with that.
He said, “I like to try new sounds, working with different producers, writers. The fan base has grown; I have fans here and abroad. Some people like the new sound but some people are stuck in the old sound. Shout out to Don Jazzy. He influenced my new sound.”
