Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and streamer DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), following allegations of repeated physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse.
The 25-year-old singer and actress filed the request Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, nearly seven months after announcing her split from Granberry, the father of her one-year-old son, Halo.
According to court documents cited by Billboard and TMZ, Bailey alleges the abuse began in January when a dispute during a custody exchange turned physical. She claims Granberry yelled at her, pulled her hair, slammed her face into a steering wheel, and chipped her tooth. Photos of her alleged injuries were submitted with the filing.
Bailey also accuses Granberry of two other incidents of abuse, including a March visit where he allegedly smashed her home security camera during an argument, and an earlier incident where he reportedly entered her home while she was away and texted her a photo of her empty bed with a suggestive message.
“Throughout our relationship, Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me,” Bailey stated in court documents, according to the Associated Press. “I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”
She further asked the court to prevent Granberry from posting about her and their son on his YouTube and Twitch platforms, claiming his public remarks fuel online harassment. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media,” she said.
A hearing for a permanent restraining order is scheduled for June 4.
Granberry has not publicly responded, and representatives for both parties have not issued statements.
