Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has officially joined Turkish champions Galatasaray SK from Napoli in a blockbuster €75 million transfer.
The move was confirmed by Galatasaray on Thursday, July 31, via their social media platforms. As part of the deal, Napoli will receive 10% of any profit from a future transfer.
Osimhen, 26, has signed a four-year contract that will begin in the 2025–2026 season. He is set to earn a net salary of €15 million per year, along with a €1 million loyalty bonus and €5 million annually for image rights.
The Nigerian striker had spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he played a key role in helping the club win both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup. His impressive performances during the loan spell prompted the Turkish giants to make the move permanent.
Osimhen landed in Istanbul on Wednesday night, July 30, to a massive reception from Galatasaray supporters who thronged the airport to welcome their new hero.
His departure brings an end to a memorable spell at Napoli, where he cemented his status as a fan favorite and led the club to their historic Serie A title win in the 2022–2023 season.
“Professional football player Victor James Osimhen has been transferred following an agreement reached with his former club SSCN Napoli,” Galatasaray wrote.
“A net transfer fee of €75 million will be paid to Napoli. Additionally, 10% of the profit from the player’s future sale will be paid to SSCN Napoli. A four-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2025–2026 season. The player will receive a net annual salary of €15 million, a €1 million loyalty bonus, and €5 million in image rights per season.”
