Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has joined Italian Serie D side Acireale.
The club, on the fourth level of the league, has announced the deal but did not disclose details of the contract.
Onazi began his professional career in Italy with Lazio, where he spent four years and won the Coppa Italia in the 2012/13 season. He made 76 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring four goals.
He later moved to Turkey, where he won the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor during the 2019/20 campaign. He also had stints with Denizlispor, Lithuanian side Zalgiris Vilnius, and Italian lower-division clubs Casertana and Avezzano.
Onazi was a key member of the Nigerian team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. He also represented the Super Eagles at the FIFA World Cups in Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018.
