D’Tigress receive national honors, houses promised by FG

Members of Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have officially received the documents for their promised homes and national honours from the Federal Government, fulfilling a long-standing commitment following their historic international achievements

The presentation took place in Lyon, France, where the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Commission’s Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, formally handed over the documents to the players and officials.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dikko said the moment highlighted the government’s dedication to recognising and rewarding excellence in Nigerian sports.

He commended the team for their discipline, patriotism, and commitment, noting that their successes have brought pride and global recognition to Nigeria.

Dikko added that fulfilling these promises reflects the government’s appreciation of Nigerian athletes’ sacrifices and its determination to motivate them to continue excelling on the world stage.
