Popular OAP Do2dtun has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Rema’s smoking habits, pointing out the hypocrisy and selective outrage of many Nigerians.
He noted that while people criticize Rema’s smoking, they ignore other harmful habits prevalent in Nigeria, such as inhaling carbon monoxide from generators and exhaust fumes.
Do2dtun emphasized the importance of personal freedom to make choices, as long as they are legal, and encouraged people to focus on their own health and well-being rather than judging others.
He also noted Rema’s success, performing at the Ambani wedding in India, to show that the singer is thriving despite the criticism.
Do2dtun’s post sparked a conversation about hypocrisy and personal responsibility, with some agreeing with his perspective and others maintaining that smoking is a harmful habit that should be discouraged.
In his post, Do2dtun wrote;
”Rema give me what you are smoking o! Some of u are helping him count the no of nicotine he is consuming but one puff is reading 4.7 billion yet u are there inhaling Carbon monoxide (CO) every day in Nigeria & you think u are healthier than him abi! Naija & selective rage.
If you haven’t done a check up in the last
6 months and you are sure you are healthier, don’t speak about health. Just cos your vices are different and no one sees it doesn’t make you healthier. Dr Abalakas.
Smokers are liable to die young, inhalers of carbon monoxide are liable to die young too.
All our exhaust don tear finish, shisha everywhere; smoke, generator everywhere. You are dying slowly but you don’t even know it.
I don’t smoke. I have never but let people do what they want as long as it is legal. Judges, unsolicited counselors and life coach too much”
“Some Nigerians are like the devils that can’t even wear or afford Prada but they will tell an Angel that can that “he is broke and dark” Selective reasoning & Hypocrisy wan wound us.. iree o!”
