Denrele Edun is not letting online trolls dim his shine. The flamboyant TV star recently responded to an X (formerly Twitter) user who mocked him as an “old faker,” claiming his bold persona only thrived because popular crossdresser Bobrisky had left Nigeria.
Rather than trading insults, Denrele chose to celebrate himself and women in a striking post shared to mark International Women’s Day.
In his message, the media personality reflected on embracing both masculine and feminine sides of his identity, sharing a deeply personal and theatrical tribute.
“Masculinity told me to shrink.
Femininity told me to fly.
Guess which one I listened to?”
Denrele also tied the celebration to his family, revealing that the previous day had been his mother’s birthday.
“Yesterday we celebrated my Mother’s birthday.
The Queen who raised this flamboyant hurricane.”
Dressed dramatically in red for a photoshoot, the entertainer said the moment was also his way of honoring women everywhere.
“Today, the world celebrates INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
So I show up draped in RED like the dramatic Love Letter I am:
To the WOMEN who create magic….
…and raise beautifully chaotic Sons like me!”
Never one to shy away from his larger-than-life persona, Denrele ended the post with his trademark humor and confidence.
“P.S: I was a HOT MESS during this Shoot, but then remembered:
I’m Masculinity and Femininity having a fabulous argument in one body… and I just MADE IT WERK!
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.”
The post quickly sparked conversation online, with many fans praising his confidence and unapologetic self-expression.
