The ongoing drama about copyright infringement between Nigerian singers, Danny Young and Tiwa Savage does not appear to be going away any time soon.
In a new development to the story of Danny Young accusing Tiwa Savage of intellectual property theft, following the release of her song “One”. In a video shared by the singer, he disclosed that the songstress had stolen content from his 2009 single, Oju Tiwon.
Following another report, the claims made by the Young was taken up by popular video streaming platform YouTube, as the music video for the One music single was yanked off the website after copyright claims by a third party.
In another development, it was gathered that Tiwa Savage had taken to her social media page in excitement as she made the announcement that YouTube had restored the music video after ‘unfounded’ claims by a third party.
A new post on the Instagram page of Danny Young shows that the battle is far from won as he had shared a couple of documents that appeared to be a lawsuit filed against Tiwa Savage and Mavin Records. His lawyers filed for damages in the sum of N200 million for copyright infringement. The aggrieved singer is said to be seeking remedy against Tiwa and Mavin for unlawfully copying his 2009 release Oju Tiwon, in Tiwa’s 2018 release One.
