Cristiano Ronaldo’s son makes Portugal debut

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, played his first match in a Portugal shirt on Tuesday when he took part in the U15s’ victory over Japan (4-1) in a tournament being held in the Croatian town of Sveti Martin na Muri

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. wore his father’s iconic No.7 shirt and started the match from the bench before coming on in the second half as a left winger, the same position his father played at the start of his career.

With Cristiano Jr. on the field (he played 26 minutes), the Portuguese team managed to maintain the lead, thanks to Rafael Cabral’s hat-trick and Henrique Amen’s goal.

‘Cristianinho’, as he is known in Portugal, and his teammates will return to the pitch on Wednesday to face Greece and on Friday they will do the same against England, matches corresponding to the Group B of the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. currently plays in the youth ranks of his father’s club,Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, and previously played in the youth ranks of Manchester United and Juventus.
