Beyoncé’s dad says he has ‘never heard’ his daughter talk about money

Despite reports that Beyoncé has joined the billionaire ranks, her father, Mathew Knowles, says money has never been a driving force for the global superstar.

Beyoncé reportedly ended 2025 on Forbes’ billionaire list, but Matthew Knowles insists her motivation has always been rooted in excellence and her connection with fans, not financial gain.

“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money,” Knowles said. “It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’”

He added that while wealth followed her success, it was never her goal. “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her.”

Beyoncé’s recent financial milestone has been attributed to the massive success of her “Renaissance World Tour” and “Cowboy Carter” concerts, alongside her expanding business ventures, including SirDavis whisky and Cécred haircare.

She now joins an exclusive group of musicians on the billionaire list, alongside Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and her husband, Jay-Z.

Knowles said he congratulated his daughter on the achievement but stressed that it does not define her. “That’s just not Beyoncé. That’s not who she is,” he said.

According to him, the singer remains focused on being the best at her craft, making her fans happy and giving back to the community.

Meanwhile, Knowles has launched Destiny’s Child: Iconic Reimagined Tribute, a live performance series honouring the legendary girl group. The show features musicians and violinists performing classics such as Bootylicious, Survivor and Independent Women, with Knowles sharing personal stories throughout the performance.

He said there are plans to take the tribute show global and expand the concept to celebrate other major urban artists in partnership with live events company Fever.
