Bayer Leverkusen have announced that Nigerian winger Nathan Tella has extended his contract to 2031.
“We are very pleased that we will be able to keep a likeable, top-level professional in our ranks for the long term. Nathan Tella is a key performer on the pitch and an enormously important player in the dressing room,” said Bayer 04 managing director of sport Simon Rolfes.
“His identification with Bayer 04 is evident every day. In sporting terms, his pace and footballing quality are the outstanding attributes with which Nathan enriches our team,” Rolfes added.
Tella described the extension as “an expression of a special relationship.”
“I feel incredibly comfortable at Bayer 04; the first years here have been marked by fantastic success,” Tella said.
“It is a lot of fun to now also be part of the development of a new, strong team. I am confident that we will continue to achieve our goals in the coming years.”
Tella, 26, who was previously linked with a transfer away from Leverkusen, has been with the club since 2023.
The winger or second striker joined Leverkusen from English Championship club Southampton in 2023.
