Aubameyang Leaves Gabon’s Team Camp for Arsenal

Captain of the Gabonese National team, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has left the camp of the national team at the ongoing African Cup of Nations to return to the Arsenal. The news was confirmed by the team’s coach in a press conference ahead of their last group game. According to reports from the statement, the affected players with COVID-19 will ne allowed to return their clubs.

Given the medical problems that Pierre-Emerick and Mario have had, in agreement with the doctor, the president of the federation and the players, we have taken the wise decision to send them back to their clubs so they can be looked after there.

The Arsenal player developed a recent heart condition after testing positive for the coronavirus while attending a party ahead of the African Cup of Nations. Aubameyang has not been on good terms with the Gunners’ coach, Mikel Arteta before he left for the African Cup of Nations. The player’s future at the club is currently not cast in stone as he might be leaving the club either in January or during the transfer window.
