Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed Alhassan Yusuf will miss the team’s clash with Cote d’Ivoire due to injury.
The Royal Antwerp star midfielder was replaced by Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo on 68 minutes in the first game of the tournament against Guinea Bissau.
He was drafted into the team after Wilfred Ndidi was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
“Yusuf is out of the game against against Cote d’Ivoire. We hope he will be able to play the next game against Guinea-Bissau,” Peseiro told a press conference on Wednesday, January 17.
“The good thing is that it is not a serious injury. He did the test yesterday and it was not something serious.”
The 23-year-old is expected to be replaced in the starting line-up by Aribo or Kelechi Iheanacho.
