Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has been given leave from the team camp to be with his mother, who is currently hospitalized
The 25-year-old dedicated his goal in last night’s match to his mother, who had planned to be with him in Morocco,
“First, Glory to God for the privilege to have my AFCON half goal like all of you have been waiting for, but the goal is dedicated to my mom,” the former Sogndal forward told Soccernet.ng.
“She’s supposed to be here, but she’s in the hospital right now. She was admitted this morning, but she’s much better now.”
Adams has been permitted to leave camp to tend to his mother, though he is expected to rejoin the squad ahead of Nigeria’s quarter-final clash on Saturday.
