The Super Eagles’ preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have received a significant boost as the squad in Cairo, Egypt, continues to grow.
Chidozie Awaziem and Salim Fago Lawal arrived at the team’s base on Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of players in camp to 24. The duo arrived just in time to participate in the final Tuesday morning training session before tonight’s high-stakes friendly.
Following their arrival in Egypt, the team held their first official training session at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday night. Coach Eric Chelle has been focused on tactical drills and player recovery as the team enters the final phase of their pre-tournament buildup.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face the Pharaohs of Egypt in an international friendly tonight. This match is seen as the ultimate litmus test before the team travels to Morocco for the AFCON tournament.
