Lilian Afegbai has apologised for her recent social media outburst directed at the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The Nollywood actress and producer took to her social media accounts to issue the apology.
She wrote: “This apology should have come earlier, That tweet should not have happened. No excuse.
“It was disrespectful to AMVCA, the nominees, my To Kill A Monkey family, and all of you who have supported me.
“Honestly, I was disappointed. But that’s not an excuse for how I responded.

“I’ve come a long way in my journey, and for a long time I felt invisible. To Kill A Monkey felt like my “now they see me” moment, and I held on to that very tightly.
“When I wasn’t nominated, I reacted from a place of hurt, entitlement and it was out of character for me. I was wrong and I am sorry.
“Please give me a chance to be better. I no go fall una hand again.”

This comes days after Lilian took to social media to slam the AMVCA organisers when they announced their nominees for this year’s award and she was not named.
She had written in anger: AMVCA SMH.”
She added in a follow-up post: “I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason.
“I don’t need a nomination for validation. The truth is clear: Nobody trended like Idia from TKAM last year. Her acting was 100. You guys can eat your award.”
