Actress, Angela Okorie Publicly Apologizes to Mercy Johnson and Senator Ned Nwoko Over Recent Social Media Drama

Nollywood actress and singer, Angela Okorie, has finally broken her silence and taken a reflective stance amid the ongoing drama involving fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Senator Ned Nwoko. In a heartfelt public statement released today, Okorie expressed deep regret over her past utterances, which she admitted were made in the heat of emotion and pain.

The actress opened her message by acknowledging that the past few days have been a period of intense reflection. She emphasized gratitude for life and used the opportunity to clarify her side of the story, admitting her shortcomings.

“It’s no secret that there have been some difficult issues circulating on social media between Mercy Johnson and myself… I am human, and when my emotions take over, I speak from the heart, often saying things directly as they come to me, especially when I felt hurt,” she said.

Okorie admitted that while she may have spoken from a place of pain, she now recognizes the harm her words may have caused.

“Some events that have happened these past days made me realize that I should have done better… Mercy, your mental health is very important now and ever & I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse. That’s not my nature, and you know it. Do find a place in your heart to forgive me.”

Addressing the broader fallout from the controversy, Okorie also revealed that she has been the target of lies, betrayal, and unwarranted attacks by bloggers and online trolls. She, however, stated her willingness to forgive those who have wronged her, choosing peace over chaos.

The actress further extended her apology to Senator Ned Nwoko, acknowledging that her reaction to certain events was not handled with the grace it deserved.

“My sincere apology also goes to Senator Ned Nwoko. I understand that my anger in trying to make a reply didn’t find you in a good state… I truly reacted in a way I now recognize wasn’t pleasant. I cannot intentionally disrespect you for whatever reason.”

She also reflected on her past support for Nwoko, recalling her participation in his political campaign and family events, adding that those experiences now make her value peace more than conflict.

Angela Okorie ended her statement with a message of peace, stating her intention to move forward in love and understanding.
