During those early days, many people did not take actors seriously, and there was little guidance on how to monetize their talent.

He admitted that he lacked basic amenities like a car, which made it hard to impress women he was interested in.

He recounted a particular woman who demanded he own two cars before she would consider marriage, a condition that made him realize she was not the right partner.

“I didn’t have confidence. It took me a long time to start toasting women. There was no money in acting then, nobody recognized the actor. We were just doing it out of passion and they did not teach us how to make money from the theatre,” he said.

Oyetoro eventually found love and stability after marrying Olaide Oyetoro, and the couple is blessed with three children.

Despite the challenges, Afeez Oyetoro has remained a respected figure in Nollywood and an academic lecturer in Theatre Arts at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Ijanikin.
