Harrysong says his career progression has been “amazing” since he ditched his former record label, Five Star.
Five Star is owned by brothers Kingsley Okonkwo (Kcee) and Emeka Okonkwo (E-Money).
Harrysong left the record label under controversial circumstances in 2017, going on to set up his own outfit, Altar Plate.
In an interview with HIP TV, the ‘Arabanko’ singer said he’s been making money, playing shows and doing well since he made the decision to walk out of Five Star.
He said: “It’s been amazing since I left Five Star. We’ve been doing great work. We’ve been making money, playing shows.”
Weighing-in on the dearth of quality in Nigerian songs, Harrysong said there’s been growth. He rated the present output as average in comparison to the below par level of the past.
He said: It’s[quality lyrics] coming up. It’s even doing good. It’s better than the other times when we just had shayo and bum bum.
“Have you heard? Davido is doing some parables and some things that are happening in Nigeria.
“From 20-30 percent we were before, we are now at 50-60 percent”
The singer announced that he will hold his first solo concert tagged ‘Kingmaker’ in Warri, Delta state.
The profit from the concert, he said, will be used to empower people in need.
Harrysong also disclosed that he will release his ‘Kingmaker’ album before the end of 2018 and that he will tour African countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia.
