Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta recently addressed
a question that might be on many minds:
is sm0king c!garettes a sin?
He said, “If someone asks me, ‘Is sm0king cigarettes a sin?’ I would say it’s a sin but it’s not explicitly mentioned in the holy book. God doesn’t want us to do things that may later harm us.”
Interestingly, Chatta admits he sm0kes himself. But instead of defending his habit, he urges honesty:
“I don’t want to justify it because I do sm0ke cigarettes, but the truth has to be said: whatsoever that can influence or intoxicate you is a sin.”
Here’s a thought for you:
Do you agree that actions like sm0king, even if not directly mentioned in religious texts, can still be considered sinful?
