Nigerian culture should be a priority – Rapper Vector

Rapper Vector has stated that the Nigerian culture should be a priority, and if there’s anything he would like to change about the country, it will be the citizens taking their culture more seriously

In a conversation on ‘Pulse Fun Facts’ with fellow artist Reminisce, Vector explained his thoughts on Nigerian identity and cultural values.

He said, “If I could change anything in Nigeria, I would restrict Nigerian thinking to the traditional way. Let me rephrase: I would make sure our culture and traditions are heavily part of who we are.”

He further elaborated, “For example, in Yorubaland, Yoruba would get a higher mark in schools than any other study, and in Igbo Land, Igbo language would get a higher mark than other courses, so that you can get accustomed to the culture and preserve the core fabric of the country. Anybody can wake up and create something tech and we’d become technologically advanced, a person can become wealthy too. I have realized that the only thing that sustains us is our culture, and for me, what sustains me mentally is Yoruba.”

On the other hand, Reminisce stated that if he could change one thing about Nigeria, it would be the system of government.

He argued that the main problem in the country is not who governs but how the country is governed.
