Morocco booked a spot in the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Cameroon 2–0 in their quarterfinal clash on Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat
The Atlas Lions took control early, with Brahim Diaz opening the scoring in the 26th minute, before Ismael Saibari sealed the win with a second goal in the 74th minute to put the contest beyond Cameroon’s reach.
Morocco arrived at the quarterfinals after narrowly beating Tanzania 1–0 in the Round of 16. They had earlier dominated Group A, finishing top with seven points and rounding off the group stage with an emphatic 3–0 victory over Zambia.
Cameroon, on the other hand, earned their place in the last eight with a 2–1 win against South Africa. The Indomitable Lions ended the group phase as runners-up in Group F on seven points, recording victories over Gabon and Mozambique, along with a draw against Côte d’Ivoire.
