Internet sensation Speed Darlington sparks outrage over ₦40k house help

Nigerian entertainer and internet sensation, Speed Darlington, has once again stirred a storm online, this time over a job post that’s leaving fans divided.

In a statement that has drawn both laughter and criticism, he declared:

“I’m now looking for house help, male or female, but preferably female. The monthly pay will be ₦40,000 to serve only me, even if I have plenty people in my house you are serving only me as your lord and Saviour.”

The bold announcement has sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many questioning whether the ₦40,000 salary in 2026 is serious or just “for biscuits.”

Some critics have openly challenged Darlington, calling the pay audaciously low given current living standards.

As expected, social media quickly exploded. Memes, jokes, and debates flooded timelines, with fans dissecting every word of the entertainer’s post.

While some defended him as “just being Speed,” others slammed the move as tone-deaf and disrespectful to domestic workers.

Once again, Speed Darlington proves that whatever he posts be it music, memes, or job offers never goes unnoticed. And with this latest announcement, the internet is buzzing louder than ever.
