Nigerian rapper and street commentator, Erigga, has shared a thought-provoking message for creatives who sit on their ideas for too long.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page, the rapper pointed out that when people delay executing their ideas, those same ideas often come to life through someone else.
He explained that this doesn’t necessarily mean the idea was stolen — rather, the idea’s time had come and it simply found another vessel.
“If you have an idea you’re excited about and you don’t bring it to life, it’s not uncommon for the idea to find its voice through another maker,” he wrote.
“This isn’t because the other artist stole your idea, but because the idea’s time has come.”
His post has since sparked conversations online, with many creatives in the comment section sharing stories of how they hesitated on a concept — only to later see someone else bring it to life.
