The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards concluded with a glittering ceremony at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Sunday, where Nollywood filmmaker and actor Femi Adebayo emerged as the night’s biggest winner.
Femi Adebayo, celebrated for his hit film Jagun Jagun, took home six awards out of the 24 categories, including Best Actor and Best Costume.
Other major winners included the film Momiwa, which secured Best Screenplay and Best Editing, and Unknown Soja, which claimed both Best Actress and Best Child Actress.
Kanayo O. Kanayo was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Kwara State Governor His Excellency AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman and the DG of the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Aare Abisoye Fagade. The governor emphasized that Kwara State is open for business and expressed hope that the Sugar Factory Film Studios would host two major films in the upcoming year.
The BON Awards, founded by Seun Oloketuyi, continues to celebrate the contributions of Nigerian film practitioners and industry stakeholders. Feranmi Olaoye, Executive Director of BON, shared that the winners were selected after extensive deliberations by a skilled jury.
The event, hosted by actress Toyin Abraham, was attended by notable figures including Binta Ayo-Mogaji, Kazeem Adeoti, Mercy Aigbe-Adeoti, Femi Adebayo, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Biola Adebayo, Foluke Daramola, Bimbo Manuel, Keppy Ekpeyong, Wole Ojo, and others.
