
Afrobeats sensation Davido has paid a tribute to the late Sound Sultan in the music video for his hit song “10 Kilo”
The video features a backdrop with Sound Sultan’s image, as plus-size models dance in front of it.
The lyrics of “10 Kilo” bear similarities to Sound Sultan’s 2013 hit song “Orobo”, which also celebrated plus-size women.
Davido’s tribute is a nod to Sound Sultan’s legacy as a pioneer of modern Afrobeats music.
Sound Sultan passed away in July 2021 after battling cancer, and several Nigerian artists, including 2Face, Burna Boy, and Sean Tizzle, have previously paid their respects to the legendary musician.
