Scottish Premiership side, Rangers have announced that it will not renew the contract of Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun following the expiration of his contract.
The 33 year old has not played a lot this season after Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s emergence as coach.
Rangers made the announcement on their Twitter handle on Friday, June 3.
“Rangers can today confirm that @Leon Balogun and @andyfirth1996 will depart the club following the expiration of their contracts. Everyone at the club wishes Leon and Andy well for the next move in their career,” the Tweet read.
Rangers then posted a Tweet celebrating Balogun with a video highlighting his key moments at the club.
“Forever Blue @LeonBalogn leaves a a Ranger with everyone at Ibrox wishing him well for the next move in his career,” the club Tweeted.
Balogun leaves the club after two years at Ibrox winning the league title two seasons ago with Steven Gerrard as coach and winning the Scottish Cup last season.
They also reached the Europa Cup final losing to Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany.
