Nicki Minaj is still married, despite Instagram name change

It’s Nicki, re-loaded. After marrying in October, Nicki Minaj changed all of her social media handles to “Mrs. Petty,” in recognition of husband Kenneth Petty. But the star recently changed her Instagram name to “Barbie” and her Twitter name to “YIKES,” after her latest single, a subtle move that was nevertheless enough to lead fans to believe her and Petty had split.

However, sources close to the Queens native confirm the Pettys are doing just fine.

“Nicki Minaj is still with her man,” a source close to the artist confirms to Page Six. “It’s just business as usual for her highness as she prepares to release new music.”

One person who might be pleased with the change is Wendy Williams, who took to the airwaves last month with a scathing critique of the rapper for marrying Petty, bringing up his rap sheet as evidence. (While a teen, Petty was convicted of the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. He also pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in March 2006, serving seven years of his 10-year sentence, and most recently, was arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California.)
