Controversial cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze has reacted to accusations from Twitter users that he charges music artistes 100k before he plays their song on air.
According to the accusations, the system prevents upcoming artistes from rising, because only established artistes are able to afford such.
Reacting to the accusations, Daddy Freeze shared:
“Earlier this week I put up a post showing that I paid N150 of my hard earned money to buy @iamkizzdaniel song Fvck you.
–
Not only did I buy the song, it’s also on constant rotation, do you know why? Because the song is awesome.
–
This clearly show that I don’t need anyone’s money to play their music, I’ll even go out of my way to pay my hard earned money to buy good music.
–
There is no major artiste that did not pass through my hands as an upcoming artiste and none paid me for promotion. This includes the likes of Dbanj, Davido, Wizkid, Jazzy etc.
–
I won’t listen to or promote nonsense just to be politically correct, neither would I sit down with mediocre artistes without charging for it. ~FRZ”
He added:
?I owe nobody an answer, but I’ll give you one nonetheless. I have 23 years of radio experience, if I choose to charge a fee (which I should), hows that anybody’s business?
I preach the gospel for free, everything else I charge for, in full, upfront. ?By the way, I don’t charge for radio AirPlay, but for artiste consultancy (a bracket under which I can file literally anything I wish).
–
Before you come for OAPs is your song nice? Does it make sense? Would it add value to my show?
–
A minute of my time is in six figures, why shouldn’t it be?? ~FRZ
