“As An Adult, It’s Offensive!” Kaffy Reacts To Naira Marley’s ‘Soapy’

Award-winning Nigerian dancer, Kaffy, has reacted to the dance trend Naira Marley introduced with his new song, Soapy, a dance that encourages masturbation.

The dancer, via her Instagram, stated that this dance, aside being inappropriate for kids, is offensive to adults.

The dance was apparently inspired by masturbating prison inmates which Naira Marley had contact with when he was arrested for internet fraud.

In reacting to the dance, Kaffy said;

Am sorry, I can’t take this In the history of Naija Dance I have never seen a more disgusting immoral dance like the so called soapy. It should never be encouraged, Am really disappointed… This is a No .  #myopinion
As dancers we should also speak for what is right we shouldn’t encourage this for the sake of trend. Esp when it’s not even censored away from kids ,as an adult sef it’s offensive. #rubbish

A national ambassador for the Nigerian Prison Service, Lamboginny, also reacted to the dance, stating that it is a misrepresentation of the prison inmates among many things.

According to him, the Nigerian prison has so many issues, some of which is the congestion of the various prisons in the country that should be decongested and also awaiting trails that never happen.

Lamboginny urged Nigerian celebrities to use their platforms right rather than be insensitive about the sufferings of others. “It’s either you speak for it or don’t do anything about it to make it worse”  (Emphasis mine)
